HOW TO APPLY AND COMPLETE THE VISA APPLICATION FORM

  • Please note that the visa issuance process can take 14 working days or more. Applications should be submitted at least 14 days prior to the scheduled date of departure to allow adequate processing time

  • Visa applications are accepted at the Embassy gate from Monday to Friday, between 09:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

  • Visas and passports are collected from Monday to Friday, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

  • In principle, applicants must submit their visa applications and pick up their passports in person. However, if you are unable to come to the Embassy in person due to circumstances beyond your control, you can authorize someone to do so on your behalf by means of a signed letter. In that event, the signature on the letter must be identical to the signature in your passport.

  • Handwritten passports are no longer accepted as of March 2, 2015. All visa applications must now be submitted along with Machine Readable Passports (MRP) issued by the Government of Nepal.

  • An applicant’s passport must be valid for at least six months at the time of the application.

  • Please note that a visa does not guarantee entry to the Republic of Korea. The visa holder may be subjected to further inspection at the airport immigration desk by authorized officials in the Republic of Korea.

  • Applicants are requested to use glue, rather than staples, to affix their photographs to their applications.

  • The Embassy of the Republic of Korea informs for all those concerned that in order to facilitate visa application procedures, the Embassy will collect the visa fee (in cash) along with the visa applications at the Embassy counter with effect from December 1, 2016. The Embassy further informs that since the bank account for depositing visa fees will be closed from the same date, the visa fees cannot be deposited in banks.Likewise, the Embassy requests those who pay visa fees by November 30th, to kindly lodge visa application by December 9, 2016.

The visa fees are as shown below: US$1 = 130 rupees from January 1st, 2023.

  • All documents from South Korea must be original.

  • All Nepali documents must be translated into English and notarized by authorized notary publics.

  • Documents are only valid that issued within 3 months.

  • Please note that failing to submit the required documents (specified below) may lead to the rejection of the visa application.

  • The Embassy reserves the right to call applicants in for interviews, demand additional documents, and take other steps when it is deemed necessary.

  • Fraud or misrepresentation can result in refusal of a visa. Do not submit inauthentic documents.

  • Even though all the required documents and procedures are fulfilled, the Embassy reserves the right to issue visa or not without informing any reasons according to the rules and regulations of Korean Immigration.

  • In case a visa applicant is found to tender any form of fake document, the perpetrator will be barred from entering the Republic of Korea up to 5 years.

  • The Government of the Republic of Korea has decided that long-term (over 90 days) visa applicants(over 6 years old) are required to submit their medical report on tuberculosis from the specifically designated hospitals by the Embassy, which is due to be effective from Mar 2, 2016. The list of the designated hospitals is as below;

    In case a visa applicant, who has been holding a tuberculosis history in Korea and come back to Nepal, applies for a short term visa (less than 90 days), the visa application would be approved only when the visa applicant proves to the Embassy that he/she is fully recovered from tuberculosis by submitting a medical report from the specifically designated hospitals by the Embassy.

If you are invited by a business partner or someone else in Korea, you must submit the following:

  • One recent passport-size photo of the applicant

  • Original passport and a photocopy thereof

  • A visa cover letter (applicant should furnish details including the purpose of the visit, a tentative itinerary, and who will cover his or her expenses during the visit)

  • Daily business schedule in detail

  • Flight Ticket (2-way)

  • Hotel Reservation

  • Job certificate from a Nepali business entity stating the applicant’s position in the company and the purpose of his or her visit to Korea, guaranteeing that the company can cover all expenses and that the applicant intends to return to Nepal

  • Company registration (original and copy)

  • Permanent Account Number (PAN) registration (original and photocopy)

  • Evidence of Importation (document that substantiate a previous business relationship between the inviter in Korea and the Nepali applicant or other document that shows the company of the applicant is active in business)

  • Personal bank statements for the last six months

  • Company’s bank statements for the last six months

Documents required for a tourist visa (C-3-9 / up to 90 days)

If you apply for a tourist visa, you must submit the following:

  • One recent passport-size photo of the applicant

  • Original passport and a photocopy thereof

  • Visa cover letter (applicant should furnish details including the purpose of the visit, a tentative itinerary, and who will cover his or her expenses during the visit)

  • Flight Ticket (2-way)

  • Hotel booking voucher (receipt)

  • Travel schedule in detail

  • Job certificate from a Nepali business entity stating the applicant’s position in the company and the purpose of his or her visit to Korea

  • Company registration (original and photocopy)

  • Permanent Account Number (PAN) registration (original and photocopy)

  • Personal bank statements for the last six months

Documents for a family visit visa (C-3-9 / up to 90 days)

If you are invited by relatives currently living in Korea, you must submit the following:

※ For the certificate of alien registration, more than 6 months from the expired date will be recommended.

  • Family certificate (if the sponsor is the applicant’s Korean spouse)

  • Marriage certificate (if the sponsor is the applicant’s Korean spouse)

  • Job certificate (if the sponsor is the applicant’s Korean spouse)

  • Lease contract or other (if the sponsor is the applicant’s Korean spouse or an international student)

  • Student certificate (if the sponsor is an international student)

  • Recommendation letter from University (if the sponsor is an international student)

  • Pregnancy certificate indicating due date (if applicable)

  • Graduation certificate (if the sponsor is an international student)

  • Other proof of invitation (such as wedding venue reservation certificate, wedding invitation cards, photos, etc.)

  • Visa cover letter (applicants should furnish details, including the purpose of the visit, tentative schedule, and sponsor for all expenses for the visit)

  • Job certificate from a Nepali business entity if the applicant is employed (should state the applicant’s position in the company, the purpose of his or her visit to Korea, etc.)

Documents required for a student visa (more than 90 days)

If you are applying for a student visa, you must submit the following:

Documents to be provided by the university and sponsors in Korea (for further information, please refer to the Korean version of the Embassy’s website)

  • Standard Admission Certificate (the original as well as a photocopy)

  • Scholarship certificate (the original as well as a photocopy)

  • Financial affidavit from a professor (if the professor is supporting the applicant’s tuition fees, living expenses, etc.)

  • Professor’s job certificate (if the professor is supporting the applicant’s tuition fees, living expenses, etc.)

  • A photocopy of the university’s business registration certificate

Documents to be provided by applicants

  • One recent passport-size photo of the applicant

  • Original passport and a photocopy thereof

  • Marriage certificate

  • Family relationship certificate

  • Secondary-level education transcripts and character certificate (the originals as well as photocopies)

  • Higher secondary-level education transcripts(XI, XII) and character certificate (the originals as well as photocopies)

  • University and final education levels’ transcripts (such as master or doctoral degrees) and character certificates (the originals as well as photocopies)

  • Family asset evaluation certificate (certified by a chartered accountant with supporting documents, the originals as well as photocopies)

  • Bank statement for last 6 months (to be accepted only from A level bank)

Documents for a dependent visa (more than 90 days)

If you are applying for a dependent visa, you must submit the following:

  • Financial document (personal bank statement for the last 6 months, bank balance certificate)

  • Lease contract or other (if the sponsor is the applicant’s Korean spouse or an international student)

If you are applying for a marriage visa, you must submit the following:

Documents to be provided by applicants

  • One recent passport-size photo of the applicant

  • Original passport and a photocopy thereof

  • Marriage certificate

  • Family relationship certificate (parents, brothers, and sisters)

  • Evidence of Korean language proficiency (certificate from Sejong Korean Language Institute; TOPIK results showing Level 1 proficiency or greater; or other Korean language certificates issued by Korean language institutes affiliated with universities in Korea)or passing the Korean Language exam provided by the Embassy Even though the marriage visa (F-6) applicant fulfilled the above qualification of Korean language proficiency, the Embassy will interview the visa applicant to see his/her Korean language ability.

Guidelines on Multi-entry visas issuance for Frequent visitors

With the full-fledged implementation of i-Prechecking system scheduled during the first half of 2017, the new scheme is designed to help successfully support the i-Prechecking system and immigration services for the eligible foreigners in a stable way, by switching the current visa-free policy beneficiaries of frequent visits into multiple entry visa eligible persons.

Qualification (Eligibility Requirements)

  • Those who have made visits to Korea more than 4 times within the recent 2 years at the time of application or,

  • Those who have visited Korea more than 10 times in total

At least one of the visits must be within the recent 2 years.

Ineligibility

  • The followings are not for consideration.

Nationals of China, Cuba, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Syria of Non visa exempt countries.

Those who have been fined more than 5 million Korean won or have been given deportation or departure order in violation of the domestic law such as illegal stay within 3 years at the time of application.

Those issued multiple visas under the above mentioned conditions, if found ineligible for the requirements, will have their visas nullified.

Assessment standards of immigration record

  • One entry and departure is counted in as one immigration record

  • Visa-free entry or re-entry records of registered aliens are included

However, immigration records arising from simple labor visas such as Non-professional(E-9, E-10, seasonal worker), crew and landing permit are excluded.

Application Procedure

Visa issuance details

  • Short-term-General (C-3-1) : Valid for 5 years with the maximum length of stay of 30 days

Notice for VISA Applicants

  • The issuance of a visa may be restricted for up to three years if you use force such as abusive language, intimidation, throwing objects, or exerting undue pressure on the embassy staff.

  • In addition, the issuance of a visa may be restricted for up to three years if it is confirmed that false facts are stated, false documents are submitted, or submitted documents have been forged or altered during the visa application process.

  • Visa applicants should be aware of the above and be careful not to be disadvantaged in applying for a visa.
